Interdisciplinary media artist Annie Rose Malamet joins Sean and Nicole for episode 35 and the second half of an in-depth conversation about her work. This time we get into the nitty gritty on how she financially manages being a multimedia artist and DIY curator. Topics include how she incorporated lack of funds into her aesthetic including working with found footage and shooting on her phone, what it takes to put on a gallery show including how to recalibrate after a major sponsor flakes and part of your exhibit is destroyed by a drunk bro, providing financial support for artists and the high cost of applying for such through most institutions, and selling underwear both for art and plain old commerce. And in a a particularly confusing twist, we all enjoy a game of Uncle Sean’s Curing Trivia (it’s kind of related? Maybe?)
